Star Wars at a glance, according to the official lineup

Data from the daily sync with the LEGO lineup; dates can change and each set page shows the current one.

Star Wars is the theme with the most intense collector community, and that changes the rules: here, retirements hurt. The Ultimate Collector Series and the flagship ships (the Falcon, the Star Destroyers, the AT-AT) have no "equivalent successor" — when they go, the secondary market pushes their value up faster than in any other theme.

Our honest take: do not buy anything from Star Wars as an investment (we do not know the future and we will not pretend otherwise), but if you like a display set for yourself, buy it before its retirement date, not after. Battle packs and small sets are the exception: they rotate constantly and there will always be clones to collect. The licensing deal is not ending any time soon; the tooling for a specific ship is.

Two veteran nuances complete the map. First: within the theme, the play line (mid-size ships, figure packs, sets from the series currently airing) coexists with the display line (UCS, dioramas, helmets), and their retirements work like separate themes — the first one rotates on its own, the second one is unforgiving. Second: the era matters as much as the size. Each period of the saga gets LEGO's attention in bursts, and when the commercial focus jumps to another series, the sets from the outgoing era close their window almost at once. If you collect a specific era, watch it as a block, not set by set. Below you have that map turned into live data: the theme's next wave, its biggest set with a date and how each ship's price compares with the official one, updated with the daily sync.
