Retired LEGO sets, by year

This is the archive: 5,749 sets that have already left the official LEGO lineup, arranged by the year they retired. Each set page keeps the official price it had and explains where to look for it second-hand today — BrickLink, eBay, Wallapop — with the house rule up front: we do not publish an "estimated value". Valuing retired sets without observed sales data is the internet’s national pastime and almost everything going around is hot air; the only serious reference is BrickLink’s history of real sales, and that is where we send you from each set page.

What is an archive of things no longer sold good for? Three honest uses: finding out whether that set you saw on Wallapop really existed and when it died (clones and ambiguous boxes abound), comparing the price you are being asked with the official one it had, and — most important — calibrating your next purchase: whoever understands how the lineup rotated in recent years buys better what is retiring now.
