LEGO Icons

100 sets in the lineup · 51 with announced retirement

Icons at a glance, according to the official lineup

Data from the daily sync with the LEGO lineup; dates can change and each set page shows the current one.

Icons is the display line for adults (formerly Creator Expert): city modulars, classic cars at large scale, botanicals and museum pieces. It is, by far, the theme where retirement dates have the most consequences — Icons sets have no direct replacement, their audience buys them over years and the secondary market knows it.

Two dynamics to understand: the modulars retire one at a time, and whoever builds the whole street ends up paying dearly for the one they let slip; and the botanical line has shown that even a bunch of flowers can sell out within weeks of its exit being announced. Our position, as always: do not buy Icons "to invest" — but if one has been on your list for a while, its retirement date is the only warning you are going to get.

The vehicle subfamily completes the picture: the classic Icons cars (at a larger scale than Speed Champions, with interiors and opening hoods) are the ultimate nostalgia piece for a specific generation — and LEGO chooses each model only once. The van from your youth or the sports car from the poster on your bedroom wall will not get a second edition; they will have a successor from another brand and another decade, designed for someone else's nostalgia. It is the purest version of the theme's rule: in Icons you are not buying from a lineup, you are buying through a window. The product page with the date is the glass of that window. The data above tells you which is the biggest piece in the theme with a date right now — in the line where every exit is final, that name is the news.
