A UCS for display: 1,931 pieces and a date for leaving LEGO’s lineup of 31 December 2026. We tell you what it offers, what goes wrong according to four reviewers, what is exclusive about its pilot and when another UCS suits you better.

Set page, price history and retirement alert

Verdict

Yes, if you want an Imperial ship for display and you are fine paying the official price. It is a compact UCS (about 40 cm long with the stand), it builds smoothly and reviewers praise its finish both up close and from a distance. You have until 31 December to buy it, which is its retirement date in LEGO’s lineup.

No, if you want it to pick up and move around, or for the minifigure. Three of the four reviews show pieces coming loose when handling it. And the exclusive pilot is barely distinguishable from the one in the 2015 UCS TIE Fighter.

Price today: 229.99 € on Amazon.es, which sells and ships it directly, in stock (14 October 2026). In 90 days we have not seen any shop with stock selling it below the official price.

QuestionShort answer
How big is it?About 32 × 40 × 33 cm (height × length × width) with the stand, according to LEGO. Set aside a space of at least 40 × 35 cm.
How many minifigures does it include?A TIE pilot (sw1331) and a mouse droid built from pieces (sw1339). LEGO only counts the pilot as a minifigure.
Is the pilot exclusive? This specific version (sw1331) is, as of 14 Oct 2026, according to Brickset. The character is not: there are other TIE pilots, such as sw0632 (2015) and sw1484 (2025).
Does it have stickers?Only inside the cockpit. The window, the hatch and the plaque are printed.

Is it for you?

  • Do you want to play with it? That is not its strength. It is a set for ages 18+ and it is attached to the stand at only one point (Build & Bond 4:07). The tips of the cannons and some wing pieces come loose when you move it (JANG 11:15; MandR 8:06). If you want a TIE for play, look at 75421.
  • Do you want to display it? That is its strong point. It looks good from any angle (Solid Brix 8:08) and it is the same scale as the UCS TIE Fighter 75095 (Solid Brix 9:10; TodoBrick 7:41). Bear in mind that the stand holds it tilted, as if taking off, and that angle can barely be changed (JANG 0:00).
  • Are you after the figures? It probably will not pay off. The pilot stands out mainly for the printing on its arms, and the mouse droid is made from common pieces.
QuestionIf you answer…Then
1. Is it for display or for a child to play with?Play, or a gift for a childBetter another option: 75421.
2. Do you have a space of 40 × 35 cm and 32 cm high?NoBetter another option.
I don’t knowMeasure before buying. You will not be able to lower it to gain height: the stand’s angle is fixed.
3. Do you already have the UCS TIE Fighter 75095 or the UCS X-wing 75355?YesIt fits: according to two reviewers, they look good together because of the scale.
4. Would you pay the official price without waiting for a discount?YesIt fits.
Only with a discountTurn on the price alert. In 90 days we have not seen it reduced.
NoBetter another option: the AT-ST 75417 retires in 2027.

Our take. If you want a UCS Imperial fighter and you like the Interceptor, this is the one with a retirement date: the other two UCS sets will stay on sale for at least another year. If your priority is budget, the AT-ST has an official price 30 € lower and is in no hurry. If you already have the UCS TIE Fighter 75095, the Interceptor is the one reviewers place next to it. What the piece count doesn’t tell you

Building: smooth, and the wings get less repetitive than you would expect. JANG finds it “surprisingly straightforward”, apart from some cramped steps in the cockpit (1:01). The four wings are built separately, but neither JANG (1:33) nor TodoBrick (9:14) found it tedious. According to TodoBrick, it repeats less than 75095.

Display: measure it with the stand and accept its tilt. The stand holds the ship tilted, as if it were taking off. JANG found that the adjustment is minimal, and it is what he likes least about the set. Solid Brix tried tilting it sideways and it does not hold; downward it does (5:05). If you would rather see it level, you will have to make your own stand.

Handling: pick it up by the cockpit and with care. To lift it you have to hold it under the cockpit, never by the wings (MandR 4:32). On its stability, the reviews do not agree:

  • Something comes loose: for JANG, some wing pieces held by a single stud and the cannon tips (11:15). For MandR, outer wing pieces, “relatively easily” (8:06). For TodoBrick, pieces at the wing joint (3:33).
  • Nothing comes loose: Solid Brix describes it as “bulletproof” (8:40). LEGO provided it to him.

Three reviews against one: treat it as a display-case piece.

Finish: gaps in the cockpit and a glossy plaque that divides opinion. MandR, TodoBrick and Build & Bond see gaps in the cockpit sphere, and JANG adds that they only show in certain light. TodoBrick warns that if you place the lower plates wrongly, the gaps get much bigger. The UCS plaque is now glossy: MandR’s arrived with scratches that do not come out, while TodoBrick and Solid Brix like it better. Check the plaque as soon as you open the box.

What changes in the sw1331 pilot. The helmet, torso and legs are the usual ones. What sets it apart is the side printing on the arms (JANG 14:49; MandR 1:31). TodoBrick compared it in hand with the 2015 pilot (sw0632, which also has printed arms) and finds the differences minimal: the chest buckles, the back and some detail on the arm (2:32).

What we do not claim. That the TIE pilot is an exclusive character, because it is not: in 2025 another version (sw1484) came out in the gift with purchase 40771. Nor that sw1331 will stay exclusive. And we do not give a resale price for the figure, because we have not been able to look up real sales.

Is it worth buying this set for its minifigures? No. It is a set for people who want the ship. If you only want the pilot, buy it on its own and compare what it costs you in total, with shipping.

Will the UCS TIE Interceptor go up in value?

Retires from LEGO’s lineup on 31 Dec 2026. Today it is sold new at the official price, in stockThere is no other TIE Interceptor on sale. People who display 75095 may keep looking for it after retirementThe most comparable case, the X-wing 75355, is worth less than its official price today, ten months after retiring. Nobody knows how much stock is left. LEGO has already reissued this ship once

The 2000 Interceptor went up a lot in value, but it was a different era: UCS sets were made in much smaller quantities and there were no reissues. By condition: if it is sealed, compare it with other sealed boxes. If it is opened and complete, check the plaque for scratches. Without the minifigure it loses little against a complete one, because the value is in the ship, but it is still incomplete. If you plan to resell it, subtract fees, packaging and shipping for a 55 × 38 cm box, and the space it takes up while you store it.

The possible future appeal of this set rests on being the only display TIE Interceptor in LEGO’s lineup and the natural companion to UCS 75095, but it depends on how much stock is left in shops after 31/12/2026 and on LEGO not reissuing it, and it could be held back by an entry price with no discount and by the precedent of the UCS X-wing 75355, which today is listed below its official price.

They agree that it looks good from every angle, that building it is more enjoyable than expected, that there are gaps in the cockpit and that the pilot adds little. They do not agree on stability (three reviews against one) or on the glossy plaque. The plaque getting scratched was seen by a single reviewer on a single copy; whether people like it or not is a matter of taste.

Frequently asked questions

Is it the reissue of the 2000 UCS? Yes. It was designed by Henrik Andersen, the same designer as the original 7181 (MandR 1:01). The original had 703 pieces and the new one has 1,931.
Does it look good next to the UCS TIE Fighter 75095? Two reviewers place them together and agree that the scale matches (Solid Brix 9:10; TodoBrick 7:41). 75095 has been retired since 2017.
Can it be taken off the stand for cleaning? Yes. Lift it from under the cockpit, without touching the wings (MandR 4:32). Afterwards, check the wing pieces and the cannon tips.
Will the price drop before it retires? We do not know. In 90 days we have not seen any shop with stock selling it below the official price. If you want to wait, turn on the alert on the set page.

Sources and method

Pending: real sales of the set and of the sw1331 figure on BrickLink and eBay, and the direct price on LEGO.es.

The TIE Interceptor is worth what it costs if you are going to look at it more than touch it. Measure the space, decide whether its take-off angle convinces you and, if it does, you have until 31 December.
