The large-scale LEGO Technic sets (1,500+ pieces)

Data rule: Technic sets with 1,500 pieces or more (the flagships of the line).

At a glance, according to the official lineup

Data from the daily sync with the LEGO lineup; dates can change and each set page shows the current one.

Within Technic, two worlds coexist that only share the type of piece: the mid-size play sets and the flagships — the 1:8 scale supercars, the racing motorbikes and the heavy machinery with more than 1,500 pieces. This collection isolates the latter, because they are bought, given and retired with completely different logic.

What you buy in a large-scale Technic set is not a figure for a display case (although they end up in one): it is the process. Gearboxes that work, suspension that absorbs, engines with pistons that move up and down when you push. The Ferrari Daytona SP3 or the McLaren P1 are the most absorbing tens of hours of building in the range, and their buyer knows it: here the "for adults" on the box is not marketing, it is a description of the manual.

The pricing logic is its own too. With official prices from €200 to €450, these sets are where a discount really shows in euros — the biggest absolute price cuts our price comparison detects against the official price tend to be Technic sets from this list, not small sets. And as for retirements, don't even get us started: the July 2026 batch takes the Daytona SP3 and the BMW M 1000 RR in one go, two flagships at once, something that had not happened in years. The list below sorts by retirement urgency and each product page compares the live price with the official one: at this price point, that cross-check is the difference between a reasonable treat and overpaying out of impatience.
